Growing this strain is just like growing any other photoperiod variety. Your plant will start to flower when the daylight hours get shorter or when you switch your grow light schedule to 12 hours on/12 hours off. Blueberry is characterized by thick foliage with sturdy branches. Proper topping will ensure that it does not become too tall – you want it to spread out horizontally so that it can generate more bud sites. Furthermore, regular pruning will prevent powdery mildew. This fungal disease can take over an entire plant quickly and decrease the quality and quantity of your crop.
If you choose to grow Blueberry CBD indoors, you will need more space than usual. The Sea of Green (SoG) method is recommended to prevent excessive stretching and to sculpt the plant into a shorter bush shape. Maintain the temperature between 70 and 79 degrees Fahrenheit (21 to 26 degrees Celsius) and keep an eye on the relative humidity (RH). During the flowering stage, you want an RH of 40 to 50%. In the last two weeks, however, it should be even lower at 30 to 40%. Under optimal conditions, you will be able to harvest around 18 ounces (510 grams) of bud per square meter of occupied space.
If you live in an area that is sunny and airy, consider outdoor cultivation. It will significantly jack up your yield to 25 ounces (700 grams) per plant. The ideal temperature is 65 degrees Fahrenheit (18.5 degrees Celsius), but brief spells of 45 degrees Fahrenheit (7 degrees Celsius) can be tolerated. As a matter of fact, lower than usual nighttime temperatures will bring out the buds’ lovely purple color. (Note: This only enhances the appearance. The CBD level remains the same.)
Our Blueberry CBD seeds are feminized, which means that only female plants will emerge. As this white paper from 2017 explains, productivity is greater with just females. Because we have eliminated the male sex chromosomes, you can expect larger yields with higher CBD content. Come harvest time, your growing area will be filled with the delectable aroma of juicy berries radiating from an abundance of sticky purple buds.
